Theater and the Performing Arts
We regularly represent producers, writers, composers, actors, directors and designers as well as theatrical agents, theater owners and investors throughout commercial and non-for-profit theater and the performing arts.
We provide all of the legal services required with respect to theatrical productions, including:
- acquiring live stage rights and underlying rights;
- preparing investment documents for raising money and formation of financing entities;
- drafting and negotiating various contracts including co-production agreements, collaboration agreements, associate producer agreements, licensing agreements and cast and crew contracts;
- copyright, trademark and publicity rights counseling;
- music clearance.
Beigelman, Feiner & Feldman, P.C. is able to draw upon the industry experience of the firm founder, Mark Beigelman, who prior to becoming an attorney was an experienced Off Broadway and Broadway producer (including the smash hits and Tony award winning Nine and Tap Dance Kid. Mark is also an adjunct professor at New York University where he teaches among other things, a course on producing in the commercial theater.

Film 
Our film and television department acts for many of the leading individual practitioners and independent film production companies on the east coast.
Our work covers all aspects of film and television projects in the life-cycle through financing, production and distribution including:

- preparing investment documents for raising money and formation of financing entities;
- drafting and negotiating various contracts including joint ventures, distribution agreements, bank financing, pre-sales and cast and crew contracts;
- copyright, trademark and publicity rights counseling;
- music clearance.
A sample of films that we have been credited production counsel on include Sling Blade, In the Bedroom, Pineiro, Kissing Jessica Stein, 212 and Junebug. In addition Mark Beigelman served as executive producer of the motion picture Trick, Indocumentados, A Dios Momo and Pants on Fire.
Music
We have a small experienced music practice, acting for artists, publishers, and producers from music, stage, film and television industries as well as record companies and non-music enterprises entering the music industry. Areas in which we advise include:
- recording, publishing, touring and distribution agreements;
- management contracts, merchandising and sponsorship;
- protection of copyright, sampling and branding;
- use of music in computer games, television programs, films and musicals.
New Media
We provide advice on a wide variety of new media issues, including electronic rights, liability for on-line publication, ring tones and mobile telephony, e-commerce and website development.
