Sam Jones is a Senior Financial Analyst responsible for monitoring markets and investigating companies for possible violations of the securities laws. Sam works with the Case Evaluation team to identify, analyze and develop cases on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Sam has over fifteen years of experience in the securities class action field, helping clients recover investment losses in complex securities class actions. He also specializes in data modeling, portfolio analysis, and class-wide damages estimates.
Prior to joining BFA, Sam was a Senior Analyst at a leading securities litigation firm where he monitored markets to identify corporate misconduct and monitored client portfolios to recognize and evaluate recoverable investment losses. Sam has worked at all stages of the litigation process from initial investigation of the fraud, through complex litigation, to final settlement and recovery.
Over the course of his career, he has worked on numerous landmark securities cases including In re Bank of America Securities Litigation ($2.4 billion recovery), In re Lehman Brothers Equity/Debt Securities Litigation ($735 million recovery), and BlackRock Core Bond Portfolio, et al. v. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. ($43 million cash recovery and the release of $70 million in reserve fund for RMBS investors).
Sam graduated from Vassar College, where he studied anthropology with coursework in history and economics. After graduation, he worked extensively as a field archaeologist throughout the U.S. and in Israel before transitioning to a career in securities litigation and financial analysis.
