Court Grants Preliminary Approval of Settlement in Twist Bioscience Securities Litigation

July 21, 2026

On July 17, 2026, Judge Eumi K. Lee of the Northern District of California granted preliminary approval of the proposed class action settlement in the Peters v. Twist Bioscience Corp. et al. securities litigation.  The $17.05 million settlement, secured by BFA, represents a substantial recovery for Lead Plaintiff the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago and the settlement class.

The litigation alleged that Twist and its senior management: (1) made false and misleading statements concerning Twist’s production process, product quality, and customer satisfaction; and (2) falsely accounted for research and development expenses, costs of production, and gross margins.

BFA achieved the proposed settlement after conducting an in-depth investigation, drafting an amended complaint, defeating Defendants’ motion to dismiss in part, filing a comprehensive motion for class certification, and engaging in months of extensive discovery.  In granting preliminary approval and preliminarily certifying the settlement class, the Court found that the settlement falls within a range of reasonableness warranting final approval and that Lead Plaintiff and BFA fairly and adequately represented and protected the interests of all settlement class members.  The Court set a final approval hearing for November 18, 2026.

At Judge Lee’s direction, the claims administrator, Simpluris, Inc. will now distribute notice and administer the claims process.  Further information about potential class members’ rights and how and when to submit a claim will be available shortly at www.TwistSecuritiesSettlement.com.
