
Ross Shikowitz is a Partner at BFA, and focuses his practice on investigating, analyzing and prosecuting complex securities matters on behalf of institutional investors. For over a decade, Ross has been advising many of the world’s largest and most sophisticated institutional investors concerning their rights and potential legal claims arising out of securities-related matters. He is a leader of the firm’s client monitoring and case evaluation group, in which he, together with a team of attorneys and financial analysts, develops and recommends legal strategies to the firm’s clients.
Ross was one of the lead litigators for the securities class action against Granite Construction Incorporated, which achieved a $129 million resolution for the benefit of the class. Ross also plays a key role representing investors in the securities class actions concerning Talis Biomedical Corp. ($32.5 million resolution), Gatos Silver, Inc. ($21 million resolution), TaskUs, Inc., ($17.5 million resolution, pending court approval), Bioventus Inc. ($15.25 million resolution), Twist Bioscience Corp., ICON plc, The Toronto-Dominion Bank, CVS Health Corporation, Five9, Inc., UiPath, Inc., and Centene Corporation.
Ross has consistently been named as a “Rising Star” and a member of “Super Lawyers” in the area of securities litigation by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers. He was also acknowledged by Legal 500 for his work representing investors.
A recognized thought leader in the area of securities litigation, Ross serves as a Vice President of the Institute for Law and Economic Policy, a public policy research and educational foundation focused on preserving, studying, and enhancing investor and consumer access to the civil justice system. He previously served as a member of the Law 360 Securities Editorial Advisory Board, providing the organization with expert insight into relevant trends in securities litigation. Ross has authored several articles focused on investor protection that have been published by the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, National Association of Public Pension Attorneys and the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems, among others. His research is also published by LexisNexis, which offers legal practical guides and insights from leading practitioners.
Prior to joining the firm, Ross successfully represented numerous institutions that were misled when investing in residential mortgage-backed securities, and participated in the resolution of securities class actions concerning a European car manufacturer as well as a U.S. technology company.
